London Beer Flood
Accident at a horse shoe brewery in 1814 when a wooden vat of fermenting beer burst, destroying barrels that spilled 200k-300k gallons causing waves 15 feet high.
Paraguayan War
Deadliest & Bloodiest Internal War in South America.
With Paraguay fighting Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay all at once in the 1860s.
Human Zoo
Public displays that included so-called "primitive" or "native" looking people to display their cultures to the West. Grossly emphasized inferiority to Western culture popularizing in the 1870s… found in US/Europe mainly.
Black Hills Land Claim
1876 US illegally taking mountain range from the Sioux Native Americans - which had formerly been pledged to them in 1851.
A Supreme Court case in 1980 ruled in favor of the Sioux, and the court award was worth over $1 billion - however; the Sioux has not collected funds as they still have issues with the ruling.
Eventually the Sioux bought back 1,900 of the 6,000 acres and continue to try to buy the rest.
Kentucky Meat Shower
1876 Incident where red meat showered from the sky for minutes.
It fell in a area about 90-by-50 meters in Kentucky.
Speculation is that a pack of vultures dropped it - but oddly the meat was tested to be either human or horse. The most believed is it was from a horse the vultures had fed on.
Southern Patagonia Ice Field Dispute
Ongoing dispute since 1881 between Argentia and Chile over which part of their border ends for a part of an ice field off land.
The latest border proposal has been pending since 2006.
Great Sheep Panic
In 1888, 10s of thousands of sheep ran away from their fields across a 200 sq mile area.
Happened with dozens of farms in South England - likely caused by mass hysteria since sheep are easily spooked.
Canadian Indian Residential School System
Cultural genocide from 1890's: Schools separating Indians to convert away from their native cultures/towards Canadian religions. Students were largely isolated and were allowed limited time with their families.
Over the course of the system's history - 150,000 children were placed in these schools.
Tunguska Event
A large explosion in Siberia, Russia (1908) caused by a meteor that burst about 3-6 miles above the surface.
The fallout caused about 80 million trees to fall over 830 sq miles - left no crater splitting 3-5 miles from the surface.
It is the largest impact event in recorded history - with the explosion able to have destroyed an entire city.
Great Molasses Flood
2.3 million gallons of molasses burst from a storage tank - 1919 - in Boston, MA.
Causing waves to flood down the streets at 35 miles per hour which tragically killed those nearby as the wave of liquid was too sticky to escape.
Residents report decades later that it still smells like molasses on hot summer days.
Hindenburg Disaster
Largest airship accident caused by lifting gas in 1937, although the official reason is up to debate.
The Hidenburg was one of the longest class of flying machines - and was a German Zeppelin used as Nazi propaganda.
The airship caught flames on its last flight - causing it to fall within minutes to the ground as the last of the great airship disasters.
Bombing of Dresden
​The controversial 1945 British and American air bombing of the city of Dresden, Germany during WWII.
The attack destroyed 90% of the city center, which today is a subject of contempt for Allied response, but has been defended by both governments for the limited info available on how far the war would go and the vast factory and worker numbers in the city that were extending the German war effort.
Humanity Declaration
1946 decree made by Emperor Showa, where he surrendered on behalf of Japan in WWII.
The statement also included the emperor denying the concept of his divinity, a culture shock for Japan who revered the emperor(s) as descendents of the sun goddess, Amaterasu.
Moscow Signal
A transmission that lasted between 1953 - 1976 that was targetted towards the US Embassy in Moscow during the Cold War.
The transmission strictly sent a microwave trans of 2.5 - 4 Gigahertz which caused international panic over the fear of radiation weapon testing.
Acoustic Kitty
A CIA project in the 1960's which was meant to use cats to spy on Kremlin/Soviet embassies.
Would use strays with implanted microphones but was abandoned after training the cats was found too difficult.
Red Rain in Kerala
Blood rain event in an Indian State (that has occured since 1957)
-where the rain turned red then yellow,
believed to be caused by seasonal rains crossing with algae spores gone airborne from trees.
Tsar Bomba Test
Largest Nuke Test = Blast Wave circled Earth 3x in 1961.
Conducted by the Soviet Union in the air above the northern arctic coast.
Only one bomb was built to completion and it was a resumption of nuclear weapon testing during the Cold War.
1966 Palomares B-52 Crash
Bombers collide dropping thermonuclear bombs intact in Sea, one detonating in the water and the others washing up on shore.
Occured over the Mediterranean Sea off of Spain - a local fisherman saw the bomb fall into the water and helped in its recovery with the US Navy.
Japanese Imperial Succession Debate
Law of Succession debate from 2001 - 2006 in Japan.
The reason being the current line only had 2 remaining male heirs one 59 and the other 89, and the proposition of moving the heir to a different family line to stablizie imperial succession was introduced as there was risk the line would end.
The birth of another male, Hisahito paused the debate.
​China National Highway 110 Traffic Jam
Recurring jam in 2010 that lasted 12 days with thousands of cars over 60 miles - some only able to move 0.6 miles a day.
The cause was a spike in traffic of heavy trucks to Beijing and highway maintenance work that reduced the road by 50% at that time.
The incident led to locals selling goods to people stuck in traffic at triple the cost with some setting up mobile shops on their bicycles.
Great Canadian Maple Syrup Heist
Theft of maple syrup from a Quebec storage facility that lasted over several months in 2011 - 2012
Totaling 3,000 tons worth $18 million USD from 9,500 barrels.
Horizon Air Q400 Incident
Aircraft stolen in 2018 by non-pilot, before anyone had boarded committed suicide through a an hour joy ride and finishing with a barrel roll before crashing.
Received viral attention for the audio recording of the interaction with the air traffic controller where they stated they didn't want to do anyone any harm with the internet dubbing him "Sky King".
Erfurt Latrine Disaster
In 1884 during a meeting between King Henry VI and local nobles, a structure collapse happened at the cathedral as they all had met on the 2nd floor.
The falling royals hit the ground floor before breaking through into the underground cesspit. With a majority meeting a pretty poopy end.

Endless Rain Event
Around 230 million years ago during the Triassic period, there was a huge amount of volcano eruptions that caused wild climate change.
The eruptions caused near non-stop rain that lasted for almost 200 million years straight.
